Our team was tasked with building a comprehensive and engaging cybersecurity training course to be offered through a major university. The course was built to be completed by learners at their own pace, therefore it was particularly important that the content was engaging and interactive.
- Audience: Business Leaders
- Goals/needs: Integration of expert videos throughout, self-assessment via case studies, and engaging content.
- Tools implemented: Canvas LMS, H5P, Panopto, HTML, CSS
- Teams involved: Learning Architects, Learning Technologists, Video Production, and Graphic Designers
Some key elements that enhanced the learner experience are outlined below:
Consistent Visuals
Interactive Checkpoints were embedded in a custom callout box to create consistency throughout the course. My contribution to this design included:
- Creating the custom box with tab feature using CSS and HTML.
- Building the accordion feature in H5P and embedding the asset into the Canvas page.
Intuitive Navigation and Headings
Navigation built into each page to provide learners an easier way to move through each module.
Personalization & Modeling
Avatars and expert videos were used throughout the course to increase engagement and personalization.
